Definition:

State Continuation laws may allow for medical coverage for an employee or dependent after they lose group coverage if their employer is not subject to COBRA laws.

Application:

Many states permit some continuation of medical benefits. The employee's eligibility for continuation is determined by the state in which the company is located.
