Probationary Period

Probationary Period

Definition:

This is the time period that an employer or carrier has determined a new full time employee must wait before becoming eligible to be enrolled on the group's insurance plans.

Application:

To be a timely enrollee the employee's application must be submitted usually within 30-31 days of the employee's eligibility date.
