Definition:

The diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of diseases of the eye, including visual problems treated with eyeglasses and contact lenses. Diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and injury to the globe of the eye; glaucoma testing, examination of the provision of other services under the scope of the optometrist's license in each individual state.
