New Predictions of Higher Claims Cost in the Individual Market Under PPACA

Is there no end to the surprises we Americans have in store for us under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA)? Earlier this year employers became faced with the fact that they would be taxed through their premiums more than $60 per insured member per year for the funding of coverage of those people who are currently uninsured. This week we find that the Independent Society of Actuaries expect that PPACA changes will increase costs in the individual health insurance market 32% per year more than normal medical trend over the next three years.   Read More
